Youth sports are dying in America.

By 2020, an estimated 27% of public high schools in the United States will not have any sports.

That's why Dick's Sporting Goods started the Sports Matter initiative to save youth sports programs like Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership.

The previous year, Harlem Lacrosse received $15,000 through their fundraising efforts.

A month after our campaign luanched they had received over $700,000 giving them the ability to expand to multiple cities.




      






Then, we enlisted Buzz Bissinger, the Pulitzer Prize winning author Friday Night Lights, to write an in-depth article about HLL that was printed in ESPN, VICE, and ABC News.

He embedded himself for a week with the kids and coaches. What came out in Buzz’s writing was astonishing to say the least.
